Nurses Who Say "I'm Fine"

Sure, because compared to your patient laying in the hospital bed, you probably ARE fine.

Is it this kind of fine?

I Spent 20 years at the bedside. I Know the weight of the uniform.

For two decades, I wore the same scrubs you’re wearing. I’ve heard the alarms in my sleep, felt the adrenaline of a code, and carried the heavy silence of a shift where we lost a patient we fought hard to save.

I know that Compassion Fatigue isn’t just a buzzword—it’s the backache that won’t go away, the irritability you feel when you get home to your family, and that "hollow" feeling that makes you wonder if you’ve lost your spark.

I became a counselor because I realized that while we are experts at checking everyone else’s vitals, we are never taught how to stabilize our own.

Because a day off isn't enough:

When you’ve spent years in survival mode, your nervous system gets "stuck" on high alert. You can’t just "self-care" your way out of vicarious trauma with a bubble bath or a day off. That stress is locked in your physiology.

Because I’ve been there, I primarily focus on Somatic Therapy to help you heal from the bottom up. We won't just talk about your shifts, we will work to:

  • Regulate your "Internal Monitor": We’ll teach your nervous system how to actually downshift from the high-octane environment of the unit to the peace of your home.

  • Release the Body’s Memory: Nursing trauma is often "wordless." Somatic work helps you discharge the physical tension of those "tough shifts" without having to relive the trauma over and over.

  • Protect Your Empathy: We’ll build the somatic boundaries you need to stay compassionate at work without taking your patients' pain home in your own body.

Let's work together to retrain your nervous system to feel safe again!

Think of this as an essential CE or RQI that you HAVE TO complete before you get on the floor again. I’ve clocked out of the hospital, but I haven’t left my fellow nurses behind. You’ve spent your life being the lifeline for others—let me be yours for a while.
