Meet Jamille, RN, RYT, LPC-A
Registered Nurse, Registered Yoga Teacher,
Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate
After 20 years of being a nurse, I'm now helping people in a different way. I believe that chronic illness & dis-ease usually start with unresolved issues in the mental, emotional, & even spiritual realms, that then manifest on the physical plane. What I saw in the hospital confirmed that the physical body will try everything it can to communicate until it's screaming, which usually looks like pain. Patients would present with debilitating pain & after extensive work-ups, the dreaded "no known etiology"...in layman's terms, "we don't know what is causing this".
Their pain was no less real, just nothing allopathic medicine could do other than palliate. The advice would inevitably be to reduce stress or consider complementary & alternative medicines.

I had my own experience with undiagnosed pain so significant that I could no longer do direct patient care. It wasn't until I went to a Shamanic Practitioner that my pain finally left me.
I have always been interested in holistic health. Interested in caring for the whole person...mind, body, & spirit. As a counselor, we will explore all of these realms of health. Knowing that dis-ease on one of these planes of existence can affect the others & conversely, wellness in one area can affect the others as well. I know what living with chronic pain/illness can do & how it can affect your mood, mental acuity, your relationships, your work, & even your overall health.

There are no topics that are off limits in our sessions. Even though I am staying within my scope of practice as a counselor, that nursing hat is a part of who I am. In fact, I have had my clients return to more regular bowel movements, decrease chronic pain, & other physical, systemic positive effects after spending some time in counseling with me. Let's see what counseling with me can do for you?!
